I grew up out on the west coast in Portland, Oregon where I still fondly recall the mountains, Columbia River Gorge, and ocean that I spent most of my spare time hiking and enjoying. It was in Oregon that I met a friend who was really something special. She had a joy like no one else I knew and the way she talked about God and how she loved Him was both challenging and inspiring. It was because of my relationship with her that I went from just believing that there was a God to having a relationship with Him that directed every area of my life. Years later I am still so thankful for choosing to follow Jesus; it was the best decision I have ever made. I absolutely still love to be outside; whether it’s going for a bike ride, hike, sitting by a campfire, or playing yard games; I enjoy it all.
I currently love my role as TJN Kids Director and the capacity in which I serve here. It brings me great joy to be a part of an amazing team of people who love kids and really want to serve them well.
I am motivated and driven by the values of TJN; authenticity, honor, generosity, relevance, and unity. They are not just important at TJN, but in our home as well.
One trip that has changed me was actually a trip that I didn’t take because I was too afraid to fly. It was a trip to New York to celebrate one of my daughters 13 birthday. I missed out on a ton of fun, Broadway plays, great food, and an overall amazing time full of wonderful memories. After that experience I made the decision to get over my fear and to not miss out again on such a trip and I am so thankful for my newfound love of travel because of it.
