Christ Jesus (touch the palm of each hand)
has set us free. (criss-cross wrists and break away)
He wants us to enjoy freedom. (place palms on chest and and then wave hands)

The Big Idea for Today's Lesson Is:

I Can Always Be Thankful

Lesson 4: Thanks

When Jesus healed ten men who had a disease called leprosy, all of them probably danced, celebrated, and shouted for joy. Only one of them, however, learned that being healed was only the beginning. He discovered that Jesus had much more for him, all by choosing to say “Thanks.”

Video Lesson Part 1

Discussion Questions for Parents to Ask:

  1. How do you think the Source team is feeling?
  2. What do you think they should do?
  3. It seems tough right now, but is there anything the Source team can be thankful for?
  4. What are some ways you could tell someone “Thank you”?
  5. What could you thank them for?

Lesson Activity

Look Up and Read: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. These verses are about being thankful because of what Jesus did for us.

Do This: Later today or this week make a card that says “Thank You” on it and write down a thank you note for someone. It could be for your parents, a friend, a teacher, or someone else you’re thankful for. Write why you’re thankful for them on there, too! Then, when you have the chance, give them your card or put it in the mail.

Part 2 of The Source

Parents Ask Your Kids These Final Questions:

  1.  What change may be taking place in Mr. Corbin’s life?  (taking a new job.)
  2. How many sick men were in the bible story?  (10)
  3. What sickness did they have?  (leprosy)
  4. How many came back to thank Jesus?  (1)
  5. What did that man receive that the others didn’t?  (friendship with God)
